Kathy Tang

Kathy Tang graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree from Cardiff University, UK and studied under Ms Helen Field. Ms Tang has sung in prestigious choirs such as the BBC National Choir of Wales, Welsh National Opera, and Bath Camerata. Whilst in the UK, Ms Tang had the opportunity to work as a Graduate Music Assistant at the Wells Cathedral School for two years. In 2009, Ms Tang appeared as a soloist in Handel’s Messiah in Sheffield, UK.
Ms Tang continues to be an active soprano after her return to Hong Kong, and her engagements has since included being cast as Beatrice at the musical, The Venetian Twins with the Hong Kong Players Limited. She has been singing in the Opera Hong Kong Chorus since 2010, and performed as a soloist in the Opera Hong Kong Chorus Annual Concert in 2011. Ms Tang sang as a solo soprano in Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the Hong Kong Oratorio Society in 2011. Ms Tang was a recipient of the vocal training scholarship under the Opera Hong Kong and Jockey Club Choral Training Programme, and studied under Ms Rao Lan. Ms Tang has recently performed the role Sklavin in "Salome" by Richard Strauss with Opera Hong Kong in 2014, and made her debut as Juliette in Gounod's "Romeo et Juliette" with Musica Viva in 2015.
