Candy Chik
Voice Teacher
Coloratura soprano and accompanist, Candy Chik graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (Voice) after acquiring a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and a Master of Philosophy in Sports Science and Physical Education from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. With a university scholarship, Candy studied Jazz Music at McGill University, Canada, and was later awarded the Hong Kong Jockey Club Choral Training Programme scholarship from Opera Hong Kong (OHK). Candy has studied piano, voice and choral conducting with world renowned artists including Dr. Mary Wu, Brian Montgomery, Rao Lan, Gabor Hollerung, Theodora Pavlovitch and Fred Sjoberg.
With her remarkable sight-reading skills on the piano, and experience as a professional singer, Candy has performed in over 18 countries as a pianist with the Yip's Children's Choir, and is recently one of the rehearsal pianists for the OHK Chorus.
Candy frequently appears as a vocalist in local and overseas events, and has performed in numerous opera productions with the Opera Hong Kong. She was appointed to be an instructor of the HKU SPACE voice-training program, and a vocal coach of the CU Chorus.
Candy is currently a singing coach and conductor of the OHK Children Chorus and various schools.
