Amanda Ng

Voice Teacher

Amanda NG studied voice at the Royal College of Music, London (Master of Music in Vocal Performance) with Veronica Veysey Campbell and Janis Kelly; and at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (B.A in Music) with Siu-Kwan Chan. She was on the Dean’s List of CUHK and a recipient of various scholarships, including the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence which fully funded her master degree. 

 

Her operatic and musical theatre roles include Barbarina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Serpetta in Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera, Fortuna in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, Little Red Riding hood in Sondheim’s Into the Woods and Maria, in Royal College of Music’s original musical production— Welcome to New York.

 

She performed in venues as Britten Theatre, National Portrait Gallery and Austrian Cultural Forum. She was repeatedly invited by the Hong Kong Economic Trade Office to give performances with her trio chamber ensemble in Estonia, Copenhagen, Spain and Paris. She is currently a member of Opera Hong Kong Chorus and Die Konzertisten.

In 2019, she was selected as one of Young Music Makers 2019 by RTHK Radio 4 with the title of “Adjudicators’ Choice”, being featured in a series of radio and TV programmes. She also won the 3rd Prize in the vocal category of the 20th Osaka International Music Competition. 

Ng has great passion in music education. She has coached for Opera Hong Kong Children’s summer musicals, St Paul’s Co-educational College, Yip’s Children’s Choir and Diocesan Girls’ Junior School. She is also repeatedly invited by LCSD to be the host of pre-performance appreciation sessions for operas in various music festivals.
